Prototyping new realities

Our Beginning

Blocks of Coral (form a castle) took root in a vacuum after giving management advices, producing games, doing a tech-start-up and designing services for almost 20 years. During these years a skill for designing structures for co-creation, co-production and collaboration have emerged, but also a conviction that something bigger, more important can be done.

“People think that stories are shaped by people. In fact, it's the other way around.”

— Terry PRATCHETT, Witches abroad

Our Mission

Big Why?

Increase the understanding of how to build & design better structures for co-creation by doing practical, philosophical and theoretical explorations.

Since a decade a new dominant logic, service dominant logic, mean that all value is co-created. Successful organisations do not focus on themselves or even the industry but on the value-creating system. By a better understanding and design capabilities for co-creation we will be able to develop better services, products and society.

Guidelines

(form a castle)

The castle is a symbol of power and a power structure of the past. What is the Castle of co-creation? And how to give it a form? An important aspect of Blocks of Coral is prototyping; building early samples, models, or releases of a products built to test a concept or process or to act as a thing to be replicated or learned from.

Blocks of Coral are soft and brittle. Co-creation needs the fluid, ever-changing knowledge, insights, values, dreams, codes and concepts.

(soft thing)

(hard thing)

It involve learning about the concrete and quantifiable aspects of structures and co-creation.

Make a place

Place is fundamental for co-creation. Either it is physical, digital or mental but it is a place where the contact can be made.

Make contact

O yeah. Contact is the beginning of the loop. Love or fear?

Consequences

Lean back and watch what comes back: effects.

(world)

How big is it? How big can it be?
